Each one of us undergoes a different process of grieving. It is personal and it depends on several factors. It depends on what a person has experienced in life, their personality, how they cope, how strong their faith is and, more importantly, the nature of the loss. Grieving takes time and patience. It is gradual. There are different stages of grieving. A person will go through denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. If you or your family doesn’t have any idea on what the different stages are, then it would be difficult for both parties to deal with it.

The stages do not come in chronological order. As stated, individuals go through different processes when it comes to grieving. It also depends on the environment that they live in and the people that they have in their lives. There are also symptoms that are present when a person is experiencing grief. These symptoms are sadness, guilt, anger, fear, shock and disbelief, and some physical symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, fatigue, gaining and losing weight, insomnia, aches and pains. It is important to understand these stages and symptoms in order to better deal with a person who is grieving.

To a person who is grieving, he or she would probably not want any distractions. As much as possible, you would have to take your time to actually grieve.  Grieving can be a rollercoaster of events in a person’s life. Since this is a time in a person’s life wherein shock and disbelief is present, people tend to prepare for their upcoming demise to save their family from unnecessary problems and to focus on their grieving.
